Fire Safety Manager (FSM) & Fire Safety Officer (FSO), FERA Registration Form
1. CRITERIA AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR FIRE SAFETY MANAGER (FSM)
(As Stipulated under the Director General Standing Order No. 5 Year 2025)
Any person intending to apply for an FSM Certification shall satisfy the Director General and comply with the following criteria and qualification requirements:
- i. Must be a Malaysian citizen; and
- ii. Possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Safety; or
- iii. Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or any other field recognised by the Director General; or
- iv. Possess a Diploma in Fire Safety, Engineering, or equivalent qualification with not less than five (5) years of relevant working experience; or
- v. Possess a Malaysian Skills Diploma (DKM), equivalent certification, or any other qualification recognised by the Director General; or
- vi. Former Senior Fire Officer with not less than seven (7) years of experience; and
2. CRITERIA AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR FIRE SAFETY OFFICER (FSO)
(As Stipulated under the Director General Standing Order No. 5 Year 2025)
Any person intending to apply for an FSO Certification shall satisfy the Director General and comply with the following criteria and qualification requirements:
- i. Must be a Malaysian citizen; and
- ii. Possess a Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) qualification and pass the examination or equivalent certification recognised by the Director General; or
- iii. Former Fire Officer; and
- iv. Attend the competency course and pass the FSO competency examination as determined by the Director General.
